A Fiery Speech from a Candidate

I know that Joe Biden is run­ning for Pres­i­dent in 2008. That means that he is look­ing for chances to make him­self stand out from the pack of Democ­rats, par­tic­u­lar­ly all of the non-white or non-male ones. Nev­er­the­less, cyn­i­cal rea­sons aside, he made a strong state­ment from the floor of the Sen­ate today, and it was cov­ered by C‑SPAN and post­ed on YouTube. Here’s what I saw:

I have to admit, cam­paign or not, what he says makes a lot more sense than a lot of what I’ve heard so far. I doubt he’ll get the nom­i­na­tion, but if he did, it would­n’t be a bad thing, as far as I can tell.

Then again, angry does­n’t ‘sell’. I learned that from Howard Dean. Even if he was right all along (go check).

  1. I like Joe too, but doubt if he’s got a chance for the dem’s nom­i­na­tion. He makes a great Sen­a­tor and his views are usu­al­ly right on tar­get — with the excep­tion of giv­ing george war author­i­ty. This video is get­ting lots of air­time in blog­land, so it may raise his name recog­ni­tion …
